Description
The QUALIFI Level 5 Award in Needle stick Injury, Infection Prevention and Control is designed to equip aesthetic practitioners with the essential skills and knowledge required to maintain safety and respond effectively to emergencies in clinical practice. Focusing on needle stick and sharps injury management, infection prevention, and complication management, the course ensures learners can operate confidently within professional and regulatory standards. The programme aligns with NHS England guidelines and the Royal College of Nursing Sharps Safety document, providing evidence based practices to reduce risk and maintain a safe environment for both clients and practitioners. The course is delivered through a blend of home study theory and remote MCQ assessment.

To achieve this qualification a learner must successfully complete the one mandatory unit – 1 credit:
– CO502: Needlestick Injury, Infection Prevention and Control
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Level 4 qualification in a related sector or equivalent
Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and anaphylaxis management qualification.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Learners will be able to manage the risks associated with needlestick and sharps injuries, applying best practices in line with NHS England Guidelines and the Royal College of Nursing Sharps Safety Document to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Learners will be able to maintain effective infection prevention and control procedures, demonstrating knowledge and skills to minimise the risk of cross-infection during aesthetic procedures.
