The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (RQF) is aimed at beauty therapists looking to specialise in laser treatments. The qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required in order to provide laser and intense pulsed light treatment to the general public.
The qualification focuses on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using laser and intense pulsed light (IPL). The qualification will also cover; safe working practices, identifying and controlling hazards, identifying hair and skin conditions and those clients suitable for intense light and laser system treatments.

Pre-Requisites to complete this course:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Current level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline. If not, a level 3 qualification in anatomy & Physiology can be supplied at additional cost.
Current CPD qualification and experience in laser may entitle the learner to access our reduced-rate RPL learner option.
In certain circumstances, learners with considerable experience but no formal/regulated qualifications may be considered. This will be subject to an interview with the centre and being able to demonstrate their ability to cope with the demands of the course and assessment.

RPL (Recognition Of Prior Learning) £999 must be able to produce valid CPD certification
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process that acknowledges the skills, knowledge, and experience you’ve already gained through previous training, work, or practical experience — even if it wasn’t through formal education. By assessing your existing competence against the course requirements, RPL can help you avoid repeating content you already know.
This means you may be eligible for reduced study time, less classroom attendance, and in some cases, a discount on course fees, as parts of the qualification can be credited based on your prior achievements.
If you hold CPD and experience in laser services, you can apply for the RPL status for assessment phase only and discounted course cost.
All equipment and models are supplied throughout your course. You will need access to a computer and internet to complete this course.
The practical course structure consists of an average of 4 attendance sessions in the centre.
This is comprised of a range of in house sessions of practical training, professional development and assessments. Additional education may be provided on zoom.
This course allows the learner up to 12 months to complete their written assignments, but can be completed in as little as 6 weeks if educational hours are applied. The Total time frame allocated to complete with a qualification is approximately 310 educational hours.
