The Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (RQF) is aimed at beauty therapists looking to specialise in laser treatments. The qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required in order to provide laser and intense pulsed light treatment to the general public.
The qualification focuses on reducing hair growth and photo rejuvenation of the skin using laser and intense pulsed light (IPL). The qualification will also cover; safe working practices, identifying and controlling hazards, identifying hair and skin conditions and those clients suitable for intense light and laser system treatments.
The course is made up of 4 mandatory units include:
- Management of health, safety and security in the salon
- Client care and communication in beauty related industries
- Laser and light treatments for hair removal
- Laser and light treatments for skin rejuvenation
Pre-Requisites to complete this course:
Be at least 18 years of age.
Current level 3 qualification in relevant discipline. If not held level 3 qualification in Anatomy & Physiology can be supplied.
Current CPD qualification and experience in laser may entitle learner to access our reduced rate RPL learner option.
In certain circumstances, learners with considerable experience but no formal/regulated qualifications may be considered. This will be subject to interview with the centre and being able to demonstrate their ability to cope with the demands of the course and assessment.
Course can be paid in full at the time of enrolment or a £300 deposit then payment plan for the duration of the course.
RPL (Recognition Of Prior Learning) £800 must be able to produce valid CPD certification
All equipment and models are supplied throughout your course. You will need access to a computer and internet to complete this course.
The course structure runs over a 6 week term. This is comprised of a range of in house sessions of practical training, professional development and assessments. Along with zoom educational lessons.
The learner will be expected to attend the centre between 6&7 days over the duration of the course, timetables can be flexible to meet the individual learners needs.
This course allows the learner up to 12 months to complete their portfolio and written assignments, but can be completed in as little as 6 weeks if educational hours are applied. The Total time frame allocated to complete with a qualification is approximately 310 educational hours.
This is an Ofqual regulated course.
